CARBOCYCLE

CarboCycle is a greentech startup utilizing a Columbia University patented technology to convert organic waste into vegetable oil substitutes for use in manufacturing applications. The core technology that forms the basis of the CarboCycle was developed in Prof. Chandran's lab as a part of Shashwat Vajpeyi's PhD thesis work. CarboCycle addresses 3 specific market needs: 1. Reduction in palm oil demand by providing a sustainable oil substitute. 2.  Diversion of organic waste headed to landfills, including post-consumer organics and residues from food and agro manufacturing processes. 3. Improving public image of consumer manufacturing companies and sanitation departments through a technically feasible and commercially viable waste to oil conversion solution.
